Day 01: Arrival at Chennai
The guests shall be welcomed in the typical South- Indian tradition with garlands as they arrive at Chennai airport for a tour to South- India. Our representative shall escort guests to their hotel which shall be booked previously under their Explore South India Tour. Post lunch the guests shall leave for a sight seeing tour of Chennai which shall include visit to the famous St. George Fort and elegant St. Mary’s Church.
Day 02: Chennai- Mysore
The Chennai itinerary shall proceed to Mysore on this day. The guests shall board the morning train to Mysore where they shall check into the hotel of their choice. The guests shall visit the majestic Maharaja Palace, the monolith of Nandi Bull, Mahishasura statue and the illustrious Chamundi Hills as part of their itinerary for South- India.
Day 03: Mysore
This day shall be devoted to sightseeing tour of Mysore itself. Post breakfast guests shall retreat for a visit to the famous tourist destinations such as Jaganmohan Art Gallery, St. Phenomena’s Church, Ranganitittu Bird Sanctuary, Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace and Brindavan Garden. Your South India tour shall provide an opportunity to witness a spectacular account of musical fountains and colored lights at Krishna Raja Sagar Dam.
Day 04: Mysore- Ooty
The next destination on your Explore South India tour shall be Ooty, the serene hill station in South India. At Ooty the guests shall be provided accommodation in the hotel booked previously by our tour operator in Chennai. The guests shall proceed for a visit to the scenic Ooty Lake and the beauteous Rose Garden in the evening and later shall retire to their rooms at hotel for an overnight stay.
Day05: Ooty- Kochi
Explore South- India tour then also shall include a tour to Kochi. On this day the guests accompanied by our representative shall be transferred to the port city, Kochi by road. At Kochi you shall check- in the hotel where they shall stay for the night.
Day 06: Kochi
The guests on this day shall commence for a sight seeing tour of Kochi post breakfast in the hotel. The sightseeing tour shall include a visit to famous St. Francis Church, Pierce Leslie Bungalow and Loafer’s Corner/ Princess Street. The guests shall retire to their rooms at hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 07: Kochi- Kumarakom
This day of your South India itinerary shall bring you to the backwater town Kumarakom. The guests shall be transferred to Kumarakom in the morning post breakfast. At Kumarakom embark on the houseboat which shall take to take you on a tranquilizing cruise to the popular backwater destinations of India. The guests shall enjoy a night stay on board.
Day 08: Kumarakom- Periyar
On Periyar you shall disembark the houseboat in the morning and commence for the place of your accommodation near the famous Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. The guests shall be accommodated at a resort at Periyar and visit the serene Periyar Lake post- lunch. The dinner shall be served at the hotel where the guests shall lodge for the night.
Day 09: Periyar- Madurai
The early morning walk at the lush plantations or a quick trekking expedition shall conclude the Periyar tour as the guests shall then arrive for breakfast at the hotel. The magnificent temple town of South India, Madurai shall be the next destination on your South India tour. At Madurai accommodation shall be provided in a hotel for providing shelter for the night.
Day 10: Madurai
The temple town of South India provides various options for sightseeing hence, post- breakfast the guests shall be provided a whole day for exploring the tourist destinations. The tour shall include a visit to Meenakshi Temple, Thirumalai Nayak Mahal, Gandhi Museum and Koodal Azhagar Temple.
Day 11: Madurai- Trichy
The distance to Trichy shall be encompassed via road from the Madurai hotel on the morning of 11th day of your Explore South India Tour. The guests shall check- into a hotel at Trichy and shall enjoy a sumptuous meal at the hotel. The afternoon shall be devoted to a visit to tourist destinations such as, Red Fort, Tiruvanaikkaval Temple and Srirangam- the famous pilgrimage site.
Day 12: Trichy- Tanjavur- Trichy
Post- breakfast at Trichy hotel the guests shall prepare for a full day excursion to Tanjavur. At Tanjavur the guests shall visit the magnificent Sri Bragadeeswarar Temple, the Palace and the Art Gallery nearby. The guests then shall return to their hotel at Trichy for an over night stay.
Day 14: Trichy- Mamallapuram
On this day the guests shall travel to Mamallapuram in the morning. The journey to Mamallapuram shall be covered via road. At Mamallapuram guests shall lodge at a beach resort where they shall stay for the night.
Day 14: Mamallapuram
The day shall be devoted to a sightseeing excursion of the city. Post breakfast the guests shall visit the exquisite Cave Temples and world’s largest Bas- Relief, Five Rathas (Chariots), Shore Temple and the Crocodile Bank. The guests shall retire to their rooms for an overnight stay.
Day 15: Mamallapuram- Chennai- Departure
On the final day of Explore South India Tour the guests shall be transferred to Chennai airport in the morning. Our representative shall make all the arrangements for your departure from Chennai where you shall board the flight back home.
