St. Mary's ChurchVisit the famous St. Mary's Church, which is the first Anglican Church in India. The beautiful church premise is about 60 ft by 90 ft. There you will notice the large painting of the last supper, bible of 1660 AD and silver plates.

Next come to the Santhome Basilica situated at the southern end of Marina Beach. Here you will see the amazing stained glass window at the Basilica. Also visit the unique 13ft high effigy of Virgin Marry actually brought from Portugal in 1543.

Sightseeing in Chennai is incomplete without visiting the great Velankanni Church. It is located in the Elliot Beach felicitating the lady of health, the Madonna of Velankanni. Visitor comes here with a faith on the magical remedial power of Madonna.

Among the other prominent Attractions in Chennai, not to be missed is The Armenian Church. It was built in 1772 on the American Cemetery. The main attraction of this church is its marvelous belfry-6 bells. These bells are said to be the largest bells in Chennai City.

Come to the legendry C.S.I. Holy Cross Church. The church is more than 120 years. The church earlier was the place of Anglo-Indian worshippers, now there are families from other southern states.
 
St. Thomas MountNext in the line of the brilliant Chennai churches is the St. Thomas Mount, an apostle of Christ. The local belief is that he has been killed on this 300 ft high mount. The church treasured the famous paintings made by St. Thomas of “The Holy Lady and The Child' and 'Our Lady of Expectations'.

Next attraction is St. Andrews Church. This beautiful church building imprinted white Doric columns, black and white tiled marble roof with a high sky blue dome.

The next attraction of beautiful and historical Chennai Churches is St. George's Cathedral. The church is built in 1815. The highlight of this church is its graveyard of war emblems adjacent to the church.

The Church where it is believed that St. Thomas served people and took rest, visit the historic Descanso Church. The church is made in 17th century maintains the religious belief of devotee.
